Job title: District Project Coordinator

Duty Station: ACORD Office in Mityana.

Reports to: Deputy Chief of Party/Director Technical Services Relationship with others: The District Project Coordinator will supervise the District and lower level staff and will work in close collaboration with the Livelihood
& Social Protection specialists. Case management Specialist, Care & Treatment Specialist and other relevant project staff.

Job Summary:

The District Project Coordinator will lead the day-to-day direct programme implementation of field OVC activities in liaison with the district, facility and community structures. He/She will ensure that mobilization of vulnerable
persons and communities for social protection, HIV prevention, and care services is done in line with MGLSD, MoH, and PEPFAR guidelines within supported communities. The job holder will work to establish and maintain feedback
mechanisms to reflect and refine program delivery and quality; ensuring all key stakeholders are providing and receiving feedback; Document evidence of good practice/Impact stories for both internal and external learning and ensure systematic integration and application of organizational learning.

Key Responsibilities:

 Take lead in the production and consolidation of both external and internal district program reports and review reports to ensure good quality reporting before submission including weekly briefers, activity reports, quarterly reports.

 Performance tracking and monitoring to ensure achievement of set targets in the required timelines

 Provide timely responses to any donor information requests

 Establish QI teams for Continuous Quality Improvement – Monthly and quarterly QI Projects based on gaps identified in implementation

 Working closely with the Program leadership to take full responsibility of program risk management by analyzing data, anticipating, identifying and mitigating risk factors.

 Conduct assessment of beneficiary households to identify specific OVC needs for program support

 Support functionality of OVC coordination structures at district and sub-district levels

 Lead capacity building initiatives among OVC service providers at various levels

 Support curricula-based initiatives aimed at empowering OVC with life skills and knowledge to prevent HIV and attain decent livelihood.

 Build systems to ensure effective referral and linkages for OVCs to community support structures

 Deliver economic strengthening initiatives to the critically vulnerable OVC households

 Ensure high quality reporting of OVC activities through set national information management systems and funder databases.

 Promote access and utilization of child protection services among vulnerable children, youths and their household members.

 Ensure access to quality legal and protective services among victims of child abuse and survivors of Gender Based Violence

 Strengthen provision of high-quality health care packages for OVCs and their households to avert the effects of HIV and AIDS.

 Support OVC case management and beneficiary assessments to track progress towards graduation

 Document and report family and child success stories based on program intervention.

 Carry out monthly data collection, analysis and reporting on OVC activities in the supported district.

 Perform any other duties as assigned by the DCoP and other senior Officers.

Qualifications, skills and experience

● Bachelor’s degree in sociology, social work and social administration, community development, community health, development studies or related courses.

● A minimum of 5 years’ experience in OVC Case Management, HIV/TB, Nutrition related work with government institution or NGOs involved in community work.

● Skills in strengthening health and nutrition service delivery programmes, supporting referrals and linkages between and among communities and health facilities.

● Strong team Management, documentation, communication and inter-personal skills

● Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with frequent Movement to the field

● Knowledge of the relevant Uganda national Case management and Health policies, strategies and structures.
