Location: 6 positions in rural western and eastern Uganda (with rotational travel to field sites)

Latitude Trade Company (LTC) is a rapidly growing social enterprise in Uganda sourcing specialty cacao for export and producing bean-to-bar chocolate at origin. Working with over 5000 certified organic smallholder farmers, our mission is to sustainably increase incomes and reduce risk for our suppliers while positively impacting the community and environment surrounding our operations. We aim to provide chocolate makers and consumers in East Africa and around the world with the highest quality transparently sourced and fully traceable Ugandan cocoa products.

Job Description

The Internal Traceability Auditor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the traceability systems and data collection processes within LTC. This role involves conducting regular audits, verifying data integrity, and supporting continuous improvement of our traceability and transparency systems. The position reports directly to the Traceability Officer/Data Analyst.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct internal audits of traceability data and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Verify farmer purchase and registration data through phone surveys and unannounced field checks.
• Collaborate with field teams to enhance data collection methods and ensure data quality.
• Maintain and update traceability records, ensuring all data is current and accurate.
• Generate regular reports on audit findings and traceability status for management review.
• Support the development and implementation of new traceability initiatives and improvements.
• Ensure proper documentation and backup of all traceability-related data.
• Assist in preparing for external audits and certifications related to traceability.
• Provide training and support to staff on traceability procedures and best practices.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulations regarding traceability and data integrity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Data Analysis).
• At least 2 years of experience in data auditing, data management, or a related role.
• Familiarity with mobile phone survey data collection.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in relevant statistical software and data management tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Proficiency in the local language(s) of the area of assignment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Must not be involved in procurement or buying.
• Must have no attachments to existing employees or farmers.

Salary Range: 400,000 UGX – 600,000 UGX
