Our ECW ( Education Cannot Wait) project aims to improve learning outcomes in refugee and host communities in Yumbe, Adjumani, and Terego districts in Uganda.
We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee and implement this impactful project, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery in line with Plan International Uganda’s country strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Initiation
• Oversee project design to implementation, ensuring alignment with Plan’s strategic goals.
• Develop detailed implementation schedules and MEL frameworks for effective monitoring and evaluation.
• Conduct situational analysis and baseline studies to ensure project scope and targets are met.
2. Partnership Management
• Onboard, manage, and maintain relationships with partners to support project delivery.
• Organize partner capacity-building efforts and ensure compliance with safeguarding and accountability requirements.
3. Implementation Oversight
• Manage and execute project activities on time, within scope, and budget.
• Mainstream gender considerations into all interventions to deliver transformative outcomes.
4. Risk, Compliance & Accountability
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to global and donor guidelines.
• Manage the project’s USD 1M annual budget, ensuring value for money and compliance.
5. Leadership & Team Management
• Lead a high-performing project team with clear roles, responsibilities, and performance targets.
• Foster an inclusive and empowering work environment that promotes diversity and equal opportunities.
6. Safeguarding & Gender Equality
• Ensure Plan International’s safeguarding and gender policies are fully implemented in all project activities.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields.
• Postgraduate diploma in Project Planning, Management, or Monitoring & Evaluation is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience managing education-related projects with an international NGO.
• Proven expertise in project management, MEL frameworks, and budget oversight.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
