TPO Uganda is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that has been delivering services to vulnerable communities in Uganda since 1994. TPO Uganda has been committed to empowering communities affected by armed conflict and other natural and manmade disasters to meet the protection needs, psychosocial, mental health wellbeing and to improve livelihoods. TPO Uganda has over the years grown into a respectable national NGO with a demonstrable track record in over 55 districts as at January 2023. TPO is currently operating in the regions of Acholi, Lango, Teso, Karamoja, sub regions, Rwenzori, Southwest, West Nile, and central region. The organisation works with both in the Humanitarian and in the development settings (refugee hosting and non-refugee hosting) districts in Uganda

TPO Uganda is now seeking application for the following position

 Position: Social Worker
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Location:  Karenga
 Project:  SIDA- Addressing Drivers of Conflict

The Social Worker will be responsible for delivering all planned interventions to communities targeted in the district. You will ensure that you leave behind a strong child protection system in the location where you will be working. You will work in children-friendly spaces; conduct home visits, as well as case management. You will receive additional training in the delivery of advanced psychosocial interventions, child protection, and working in the areas of preventing violence against children.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. To design   and  maintain   a record   of  intervention   as  prescribed   in the  pyramid   for psychosocial   and  mental   health  services   and  psychotherapies.
    2. Plan  and  implement   project   activities    that  contribute   to  the  attainment   of  project objectives   and  outputs.
    3. Strengthen   the   capacity    of  community   support    structures   to  identify    and  support communities   in need.
    4. Manage   and  oversee   the  administrative   functions    of the  duty  station
    1. Establish     and   strengthen    relationships    at   the   sub-county    level    and   develop partnerships  with  other  service   providers.

Education  and Experience:

✓   Must  have  a degree   in Social  Work  (SWSA)  or Community  psychology,

✓   A  professional  qualification   in Clinical   Assessment  –  certificate,  Animation  therapy Level-one                    certificate,    Farmer    Field    School    Approach,    Certificate    in   Cognitive Behavior  Therapy   for  Trauma   (CBTT) or NET.

✓   At  least  2 years  of experience  working    in an NGO  environment.

✓   Ability   to  ride  a motorcycle  with  a valid  riding  permit.
