Coca-Cola Beverages Africa /CCBA is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda /CCBU is a subsidiary of CCBA, and we are currently seeking to recruit  Unit Managers – Packaging, based in Kampala and Mbarara.

As a Unit Manager – Packaging, you will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

Key Purpose Statement

The Unit Manager Packaging leads and supports the team so that manufacturing, quality, and maintenance targets are achieved in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Draw up and communicate a Business plan in line with the Company’s strategic objectives

• Drive WCM initiatives on the Production Lines

• Manage and support Team leaders and the teams to achieve production, maintenance, and quality targets in a cost-effective manner

• Formulate and control expense and capital budgets

• Ensure the performance management process is duly adhered to and staff supported and developed to meet performance targets

• Manage, implement, and actively support change interventions and projects

• Drive the health and safety agenda as per regulatory requirements.

• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications
• Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or
Electrical Engineering or related field
 Added advantage: FMCG experience is an added advantage

Experience
• 5 years of production, technical, and leadership/managerial
experience in an FMCG environment
• Experience in a food/beverages manufacturing facility

Competencies
• Must have a good understanding of The Supply Chain Ways / WCM /Lean practices and principles.
• Must have detailed knowledge of Manufacturing processes.
• Must possess good analytical ability and problem-solving skills,
• Good oral and written communication
• Must have good Interpersonal skills.
• Should possess a good understanding of change management and OD principles.
• Must be able to deliver results against key targets
• Must be able to provide strong leadership and motivation.
• Must be a self-starter with high energy levels
• Must have the ability to identify gaps and initiate improvement activities
• Must have good financial interpretation
• Project management
• Must good understanding of SHE policies and procedures
