Job Title: Senior Assistant /Marine Officer (Engine)
Salary scale: U4
Reports to: Senior Marine Engineer
Supervises: Coxwain/Skipper
Duty Station: Head Quarters
Terms of Appointment: Contract (Renewable subject to satisfactory performance)

Main purpose:
Direct safe navigation of vessel taking into account the safety and sound operations of engine and all equipment in the water vessel.

Qualification and experience

1. Higher Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, and automotive engineering.
2. Must have a certificate for a Master or Chief Officer with Class 3 for Deck Officer on watch.
3. Must have certificates in the following: Medical care, Advanced fire fighting, Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems (GMDSS), Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)
4. Must be proficient in a survival rescue boat, fire fighting; ISPS Ship Security officers, Personal Survival Techniques.
5. Minimum of three (3) years experience
6. Valid license
