Job Title: Senior Assistant Marine Officer (Deck)
Salary scale: U4
Reports to: Senior Marine Officer
Supervises: Coxwain/Skipper
Duty Station: Head Quarters
Terms of Appointment: Contract (Renewable subject to satisfactory performance

Main purpose:
Responsible for the safety of all the people on the boat, equipment, and facilities in the deck of the water vessel.

Qualification and experience

1. Higher Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering and Automotive Engineering.
2. Must have a certificate for a Master or Chief Officer with Class 3 for Deck Officer on watch.
3. Must have certificates in the following: Medical care, Advanced fire fighting, Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems (GMDSS), Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)
4. Must be proficient in survival rescue boat, fire fighting; ISPS Ship Security Officer, Personal Survival Techniques.
5. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in marine environment
