JOB TITLE: LEGAL OFFICER ENFORCEMENT AND DEBT RECOVERY (4 Positions)
REPORTS TO: MANAGER ENFORCEMENT AND DEBT RECOVERY

Job Purpose:
Support the execution of compliance enforcement and litigation activities in line with the departmental objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of legal opinions on compliance enforcement for review and approval by
- Manager Enforcement and Debt Recovery.
- Conduct legal research in preparing legal opinions and giving legal advice on compliance-related issues.
- Assess the legal framework and prepare draft reports for review and approval by Manager Enforcement and Debt Recovery.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the section’s departmental strategy in line with the departmental and Corporate Strategy.
- Engage with different stakeholders in and out of the fund to facilitate the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.
- Review your own performance and seek feedback to improve performance.
- Collaborate with different teams and stakeholders within and outside the Fund.
- Ascertain the legal status of the defaulting employer and whether the Fund can take legal action.
- Search for property for recovery in execution proceedings against defaulting employers.
- Draft notices to sue, deeds of settlement, and reconciliation agreements for review and approval by Manager Enforcement and Debt Recovery.
- Attend court to handle compliance prosecutions.
- Draft letters to and in response to employers or their Counsel for approval by Manager Enforcement and Debt Recovery.
- Negotiate payment plans for approval by Manager Enforcement and Debt Recovery.
- Hold meetings with defaulting employers on compliance-related issues with Manager Enforcement and Debt Recovery.
- Make follow-up calls to defaulting employers to ensure payment is made in accordance with the settlement agreements
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws Degree.
- Post Graduate Diploma from Law Development Center.
Work Experience:
4 years Post Enrollment Experience working at a busy law firm/parastatal, Government Ministry or busy commercial entity.
