Role Title: ICT Officer
Reports to: Finance and Operations Manager
Role definition: Support the project to manage the day to day ICT operations and managing the ICT infrastructure through configuration, implementation and maintenance of ICT equipment in in line with the Program ICT policies.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Supports the conversion of captured biometric data into the biometric database, maintaining reliable, upto-date information in line with the defined functions of the system, implementing technical aspects on the database and ensuring security for all the data on all MJAP servers
2. Maintains updated electronic and manual records of the HIV/AIDS program
3. Installs software, configuring and maintaining the enrollment kits and servers
4. Investigates, trouble shoots and diagnoses problems on enrollment kits and servers
5. Carrying routine configuration and installation of IT solutions/systems
6. Trouble shoot telecom, computer hardware/software and network problems
7. Ensures safe offline transfer of captured data to Headquarters
8. Implement backup solutions for program data and information
9. Prepare and deliver capacity building programs to staff in usage and consumption of ICT services
10. Carryout periodic maintenance of ICT equipment
11. Maintains and updates an inventory of ICT equipment and related materials in their custody
12. Install computer devices including printers, scanners, office phones, etc. and carry out regular servicing of MJAP ICT equipment in the supported districts and health facilities, line with ICT policies and procedures.
13. Ensure adherence to safety standards for other staff or service providers under their supervision
14. Plan, design and implement Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) solutions and keep them in a functional state.
15. Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications and job requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/information management systems or related field from a recognized institution
At least 3 years’ work experience of providing IT support in a busy setting & knowledge in management of mail servers, websites and databases in a reputable public or private organization
Professional certification in managing Microsoft systems MCTS on a centralized network environment or its equivalent. (Microsoft Certified Technology), CNNA, CCNP.
Adequate knowledge with a certificate in web design, web development, CRO and SEO is desirable
Exceptional technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems in particular for managing and configuring authority and organization LANs, WANs, WLANs, VLANs, VPNs, VOIP etc.
Experience in Windows server configurations (ADDS, DNS, Group Policy, DHCP, print server, WSUS, Windows backup, etc), server virtualization, high availability and load balancing configuration and other windows server installations
Knowledge of HIV medical records software
Knowledge of Linux server administration & ICT management and trouble shooting
Preventive maintenance of computers and accessories
Key personal competencies
Previous experience sourcing and managing content development, publishing and online reputation management.
Proven working experience in social media marketing or in digital media
Demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills,
Ability to function effectively with multiple partners and sub-grantee staff
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High degree of professionalism to ensure that MJAP image is protected
