For our work in Arua, Uganda Malteser International is looking for an experienced person to fill the position of Logistics Officer (m/f/d) – National Position
The Logistics Officer is responsible for the implementation of MI Uganda Arua transport and fleet management, stores and warehousing, asset management and procurement, in order to support program implementation. The Logistics Officer reports to the Arua Program Coordinator and technically to the Logisctics Coordinator in Kampala.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procurement
- Ensure timely procurement of goods, services and works
- Follow and enforce MI’s procurement policies and procedures
- Follow up on deadlines, commitments made, actions taken and submission of the reports to the head of unit
- Custodian of the location Procurement Request Form (PRF) Tracker
- Research and evaluate prospective suppliers
Transport/Fleet management
- Ensure that fleet management policies are met, prepare fuel reports, identify maintenance needs, monitor potential issues to ensure value for money
- Prepare the monthly vehicles report for verification
- Coordinate vehicle movements and activities of the Drivers
- Oversee maintenance and management of vehicles and drivers e.g. repairs, , monthly mileage check, insurance coverage
- Follow-up of the Drivers list of duties, shift, logbook, overtime
- Prepare and follow-up the reimbursement of private use of vehicle and submit to the appropriate finance staff
Stores and Warehouse Management
- Support warehouse and store management in recording items and ensuring stock updates
- Prepare monthly stock report for verification and distribution
Asset Management
- Ensure proper asset management and adequate inventory procedures according to MI regulations
- Check all incoming assets and schedule deliveries to users
- Tag all assets upon receipt from the supplier as well as record and track movement
- Take care of the physical assets’ disposal
- Prepare inventory reports as required
- Ensure maintenance of the filing system and safekeeping of confidential materials
Safety and Security
- Report security incidents to the Country Security Focal Person
- Ensure all new personnel receive appropriate security orientations
