John Snow, Inc. (JSI) is a leader in the field of international public health, is currently recruiting for Data Clerks for the Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango (RHITES-N, Lango) Project, funded by the USAID. RHITES-N, Lango will improve the use of integrated health services in Northern Uganda’s Lango region and strengthen the health system to sustain gains made by earlier projects. RHITES-N, Lango will contribute to improving key population-based national health indicators; build the capacity of the Ugandan government to carry out a sustainable and locally-driven response to the HIV epidemic, while also improving TB, malaria, nutrition, MNCH+A, and WASH outcomes. JSI will work with Ugandan stakeholders to design and implement health system strengthening strategies to scale up high- impact, evidence-based interventions at the national, sub-regional, district, and community levels. Interventions will include VMMG, virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, antiretroviral therapy, and condom education and distribution. JSI will focus where the greatest impact can be realized, with a priority on hard-to-reach and high-HIV-prevalence locations. RHITES-N, Lango is a five-year contract which Started in February 2018 and will end February 2023. The JSI team includes Amref Health Africa, Africa CUAMM, Another Option, and Medical Concierge Group.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in capacity building activities within the RHITES-N, Lango project to improve CH indicators. He/she will work with the child Health officer and district teams to conduct regular coaching and mentorship, training and joint supportive supervision at district and health facility level to improve child health indicators.
- Collaboratively work with the Child Health officer and district teams to support implementation of sustainable and cost-effective interventions to improve CH services (including community-based CH services).
- Support health facilities to identify and solve the documentation gaps in the CH registers and other relevant registers as per the MoH guidelines.
- Participate in monthly data collection, data compilation and reporting on the implementation of CH activities and utilize the data to take corrective actions.
- Participate in writing monthly reports, and other program-related documents/success story in a timely manner.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The required qualification will be new graduate with Diploma in Clinical medicine and community Health or Diploma in Nursing or Registered Nursing. Must have graduated within the previous 24 months. No candidates over 24 months’ post-graduation are eligible for the internship program.
- Basic computer knowledge especially word and excel will be an advantage as this will allow the interns to quickly learn data analysis and use of information for action.
