Position: Internal Auditor

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To perform routine internal audit engagements in terms of ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, processes, performance appraisal, financial and compliance audits and providing input in the development of annual audit work plan in addition to maintaining a professional ethical standard.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Participate in risk management of all auditable areas and perform all key audit tasks.
2. Follow the audit program while executing the audit assignments and document all audit evidence.
3. Identify key areas of risk within the organization and propose appropriate controls to mitigate the risks through issuing audit recommendations.
4. To ensure that all audit evidence including working papers are properly documented and cross referenced to the audit program.
5. Minute audit expectations during entry meetings and areas of improvement as well as concerns raised during the exit meetings.
6. Carrying out research on the selected topic through consulting the relevant books of authority together with the audit team
7. Perform ad hoc assignments in line with the approved audit work plan.
8. Communicate audit findings for review and attend to the review comments raised with in the planned time frame.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree (Honors) in Accounting (Commerce or Business Administration- Accounting option) from a recognized University.

• Level two of Professional accounting qualification in CPA, ACCA, or CISA.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

Four (04) years working experience, two (02) of which should have been in Audit or Finance in a reputable organization.
