Head of Creative job at Nation Media Group Company

JOB DETAILS:
Nation Media Group is Uganda’s most influential media house, operating the Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor, Sunday Monitor and The East African Newspapers, 93.3 KFM, and Nation Courier Service. It also operates NTV, the biggest and most popular English-language television station and Spark TV, the first female-focused, and fastest growing television station in Uganda. We are looking for a qualified, experienced and result-oriented professional to fill the following vacancy.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Head of Creative will be responsible for driving the overall creative vision and brand identity of the company across all platforms-TV, print, online, and radio. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team of designers, video editors, writers, and producers to develop innovative, audience-driven content. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of media trends, strong leadership skills, and a passion for storytelling.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and lead the creative strategy for all content across television, print, online, and radio platforms.
• Collaborate with department heads to align creative efforts with business objectives and audience needs.

• Maintain and evolve the company’s visual and editorial identity to ensure consistency and innovation.
• Lead and mentor a team of creative professionals, including designers, writers, producers, and video editors.

• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the creative team.
• Oversee the hiring and development of talent to build a strong and versatile creative department.
• Guide the development of compelling, innovative content for various platforms that enhances brand engagement and audience loyalty.
• Review and approve all creative content to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and creativity.
• Work closely with content creators and producers to ensure a cohesive look and feel across all media outlets.
• Ensure synergy between TV, radio, print, and online content strategies to create a seamless brand experience for audiences.
• Coordinate with marketing, sales, and editorial teams to create integrated campaigns that drive audience engagement and business growth.

• Oversee the creative budget, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints while maintaining high-quality output.
• Ensure that all creative projects are delivered on time, from conceptualization to final execution.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and audience behavior to guide innovative content creation. Experiment with new formats, techniques, and channels to enhance the company’s creative output and relevance

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Experience
• Minimum of 8-10 years in a senior creative role within a media company, agency, or related industry.
• Proven experience in managing creative projects across multiple media platforms, including TV, radio, print, and digital. Demonstrated leadership in building and managing creative
• teams.

Skills:
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Strong understanding of branding, content strategy, and audience engagement across diverse platforms.
• Proficiency in creative software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and familiarity with video, audio, and print production processes.
• Strong storytelling abilities and a keen eye for design.

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is a plus.
