Kiteezi Samaritan is a dynamic, Christ-centered non-profit dedicated to eradicating poverty in garbage dump communities, with a vision to create a Uganda where no one is forced to live or work in garbage dumps just to survive. Established in 2023 as a registered NGO, Kiteezi Samaritan strives to uplift marginalized populations by providing education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, and essential resources. Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, we work in partnership with International Samaritan from Ann Arbor, Michigan, to serve all in need, regardless of belief, with compassion and dignity. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty in these communities by improving lives through education, healthcare, and sustainable development, bringing hope and opportunity to those we serve.

Job Summary
As an Accounts and Administration Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our finance and administration functions. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budget tracking, and assisting in day-to-day office operations. Working closely with the Country Director, you’ll help us uphold our standards of transparency and accountability, essential to our mission and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
• Process and prepare invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
• Conduct reconciliations for bank statements and supplier accounts.
• Support monthly and annual financial reporting processes.
• Assist in tracking budgets and expenses to uphold financial integrity.
2. Administrative Support
• Ensure efficient office operations by managing correspondence, scheduling, and supplies.
• Maintain secure and organized records and documentation.
• Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manage office procurement needs.
3. Compliance and Policy Adherence
• Ensure strict adherence to financial policies and procedures.
• Provide necessary documents for audits and maintain confidentiality of financial and employee records.
4. Team Collaboration and Support
• Collaborate with program teams to meet cross-functional needs.
• Assist in organizing team events, workshops, and training sessions.
• Provide backup support for team members during absences or busy periods.

Key Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
• Integrity: Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a gross salary of UGX 1,500,000= per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include opportunities for professional development and the chance to work in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
