JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting option); or Business Administration (Accounting option); or Finance and Accounting; from a recognized University / Institution. OR Full Professional qualification in accountancy such as ACCA; or CPA; or ACIS; or CPE obtained from a recognized Institution; Must be a Member of a recognized accounting professional body and accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).

Working Experience

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Program Manager Finance and Administration for performing the following duties:-

– Overseeing management of the Council’s incomes, expenditures and stores by instituting clear policies and internal controls;
– Verifying completeness of payment requisitions, justification and documentation of financial transactions;
– Supervising periodic reconciliations of ledgers and cash books to accounts statements, non-tax revenue to URA provisions returns and providing advice on appropriate actions;
– Interpreting the Council’s financial and accounting regulations and ensuring conformity to Government financial regulations;

– Preparing financial estimates and returns for submission to appropriate authorities;
– Preparing periodic statements and reports for compilation of final accounts;
– Enforcing adherence to sound accounting principles and controls in management of Council’s funds;
– Coordinating day to day financial management and operations of the Secretariat;

– Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
