Job Description
Specific roles and responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of the company’s corporate strategy and strategic plan in line with the national planning guidelines.
- Prepare the company’s ministerial policy statement in line with the PFMA 2015 as amended.
- Prepare the budget framework paper for the company in close collaboration with the Integrated transport infrastructure and Services Programme secretariat.
- Support the implementation of the strategy for the company by supporting the preparation of the various studies required to guide the investment decisions of the Company;
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of the various interventions implemented by the company.
- Lead the initiation of research and participate in the development of knowledge products such as board briefs, positions, and policy papers on air transport and other related issues; and
- Lead the preparation of concepts and feasibility studies for the various routes and other products being developed by the Company.
- Analysis of companywide statistics and data to aid decision-making.
- Train various teams on corporate planning and monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Hons Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Quantitative Economics, Statistics, Development Economics, or a closely related field from a recognizable university (preference will be given to the holder of 2nd upper or above relevant first degree).
- A Master’s Degree in any of the following fields is a must: Economics or economic policy and planning, statistics, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Postgraduate qualification and certification in the relevant Field is an added advantage.
Experience and knowledge
- Working experience of three (3) to five (5) years as a Planner, Economist, or equivalent working experience relevant to the job acquired in a reputable organization.
- Some experience in government system operations, budgeting, accountability mechanisms, and reporting and coordination mechanisms is a requirement.
- Evidence of developing sustainable linkages working with stakeholders and liaising with government MDAs and partners.
- Proven experience in developing concept notes and feasibility studies, and analytical knowledge products such as policy briefs, thematic papers, and Reports.
- Excellent analytical writing and oral skills in English.
- Evidence of possession of digital skills and report writing capability.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams from other departments and external stakeholders in delivering collective tasks.
- Ability to develop and appraise investment projects using the relevant financial and economic models.
