Job Summary: The Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for supporting financial, administration, logistics and procurement activities for the program implementation. S/he will support the program to achieve it goals in a manner constant with financial principles and maintain functions such as general accounting, financial tasks, and accounting records. S/he will collaborate closely with the human resources, procurement, logistics, and finance management to provide support and assistance as needed. S/he will coordinate office space for visiting RTI staff/consultants. S/he will be in charge of general office correspondence and perform other administrative duties as needed.
RTI International seeks to recruit a candidate for the position of Finance & Administration Officer position to be based in Uganda. This position will work closely with the Directors of Finance as well as Operations and Contracts.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with formal training in administration such as diploma; or degree in administration with professional training in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of 4 years work experience (2 years’ experience in finance or accounting together with 2 years’ experience in administration/ logistics or procurement).
- Experience working on USAID contracts highly recommended; Or working for an international organization.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of QuickBooks and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent English language proficiency required – both reading, writing, and speaking.
- Strong listening, oral and written communication skills and client management skills. The ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization; and the ability to coordinate activities with officials from host country government, NGO’s and other agencies.
- Ability to build effective relationships with all clients, peers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work hands-on, independently, and with the team.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
- Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint and presentation skills.
