Workshop Supervisor job at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

JOB DETAILS:
Background
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an International independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from health care. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

Main Purpose
Supervising and monitoring the implementation of daily mechanical servicing activities in the capital and project according to MSF standards, protocols, and procedures. This ensures the efficient running of the workshop and the mission’s vehicles and motorized engines.

Main Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To:
• Servicing equipment such as vehicles and motorized engines (generators, motor pumps, etc.).
• Supervising and monitoring day-to-day mechanical servicing activities to ensure compliance with MSF standards, protocols, and procedures.

• Supervising and leading the Workshop team under his/her responsibility, including defining each person’s tasks (daily supervision and checking quality of their work).
• Drawing up working schedules and training drivers, mechanics, and interns to ensure appropriate sizing and amount of workforce.

• Providing weekly and monthly activity reports and implementing reporting practices to ensure vehicle documentation is organized and accessible.

• Checking documents regarding mechanical work (e.g., time tables, job cards, generated orders, procedures, and SOPs).

• Performing delegated tasks according to specialty and specified job description.

Education:
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related studies.
Experience:
• At least 2-3 years experience in a similar role.
• Essential driving license for vehicles.
• Computer literacy.

Languages:
• English is essential; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
