Workshop Supervisor job at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

JOB DETAILS:
Main Purpose:
Supervising and monitoring the implementation of the daily mechanical servicing activities in the capital and project areas according to MSF standards, protocols, and procedures. Ensuring the efficient running of the workshop and the mission’s vehicles and motorized engines.

Main Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To:
1. Servicing equipment such as vehicles and motorized engines (e.g., generators, motor pumps).
2. Supervising and monitoring daily mechanical servicing activities to ensure compliance with MSF standards, protocols, and procedures.

3. Supervising and leading the workshop team, defining tasks, monitoring their work quality, and conducting regular checks on their progress.
4. Organizing and overseeing training for drivers, mechanics, and interns to ensure competency and efficiency.

5. Providing weekly and monthly activity reports, implementing reporting practices to ensure vehicle documentation is in order.

6. Checking and ensuring all technical documentation such as time tables, job cards, generated orders, and technical SOPs are correctly completed.

7. Performing delegated tasks according to the specialty as specified in the job description.

Requirements:
• Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related studies.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in similar jobs.
o Essential driving license for vehicles.
o Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel).
• Languages: Essential knowledge of English.
