JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying or Geometrics from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants must have a post graduate Qualification in either Surveying or Geometrics. He /She must have undergone a Cadet Officers’/Command Course from Prisons Academy and Training School in case of a uniformed staff.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience at the level of a Surveyor in Government.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Architect for performing the following duties:-
– Providing technical support in revision, formulation and implementation of policies, plans and strategies for costing of prototype building plans and systems construction works in the Uganda Prisons Service;
– Tendering technical support to the Public Procurement and Disposal Unit in the preparation of contracts, including details regarding quantities of required materials and estimated costs;
– Carrying out ongoing cost analysis of major maintenance and repair work on the Uganda Prisons Service infrastructures;
– Providing technical support to technical teams in carrying out feasibility studies for civil construction works in the Uganda Prisons Services;
– Analysing completed construction work and advising project implementing entities on payment to contractors;
– Conducting construction site visits for assessment and projection for future work and cost implementations;
– Supervising, appraising and providing technical guidance to the junior staff;
– Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
