Reports to: • Principal Epidemiologist
Job Purpose: • Participating, supporting and Supervising Teams of Epidemiologists based at RRHs in the implementation of policies and plans on epidemic and disaster preparedness and control by carrying out investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities related to the surveillance, detection, and prevention of diseases and injuries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervising and ensuring that epidemiologic studies and urgent outbreak investigations
at RRHs are conducted.
• Coordinating the statistical analyses of investigations.
• Coordinating and participating in the design, management, and use of surveillance
systems.
• Overseeing data collection, entry, analysis and interpretation of epidemic prone
diseases from regions.
• Participating in the designing of instruments for the collection of surveillance
information and data
• Coordinating training of district health workers on epidemic preparedness, control and
surveillance
• Implementing new or revising existing surveillance systems.
• Coordinating the development and dissemination of data and epidemiologic findings
• Preparing periodic monitoring and performance reports.

• RRH Epidemiologic Investigations conducted by Investigating and responding to disease epidemics and disasters
• RRH epidemiologic services supported.

• RRH epidemiologic findings disseminated.

Qualifications
• MBChB or BVM or a Degree in Epidemiology or any other related field from a recognized University/Institution
• Must have a Master’s Degree with a focus in epidemiology or any other related field.
• Five (5) years relevant working experience in epidemiology in a public health
organization at National Level or Multinational Organization.
