Summary: Dei BioPharma Ltd., a Drugs and Vaccines Manufacturing Plant is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Research and Drug Discovery Scientist.

The Research and Drug Discovery Scientist will be responsible for designing, conducting, and interpreting experiments aimed at discovering new drug candidates. This role focuses on identifying molecular targets, performing assays, and analyzing data that lead to the development of new therapeutic compounds. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and cutting-edge environment to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical research. 

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time

Start date: Candidate must begin working within a reasonable period. 

Supervisory Position: No

Duties:

  • Design and execute experiments to explore new drug targets, mechanisms of action, and therapeutic approaches.
  • Perform high-throughput screening to identify active compounds, including small molecules, biologics, or natural products.
  • Conduct pre-clinical studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of new drug candidates.
  • Identify and validate new drug candidates through high-throughput screening, assay development, and compound characterization.
  • Collaborate with other scientists to optimize drug compounds and improve their pharmacological properties.
  • Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and bioinformatics tools.
  • Interpret results to make informed decisions on the viability and direction of drug development projects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including chemists, biologists, pharmacologists, and clinicians, to advance drug discovery programs.
  • Communicate research findings through reports, presentations, and publications in scientific journals.
  • Document experimental results in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems according to regulatory standards.
  • Manage research projects, including planning experiments, setting milestones, and ensuring project timelines are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate the progression of drug discovery efforts.
  • Ensure that research activities comply with regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, data, and results.
  • Develop and implement new methodologies and technologies to enhance research efficiency and outcomes.
  • Address challenges and troubleshoot issues that arise during the research process.
  • Stay current with the latest scientific literature, emerging technologies, and trends in drug discovery and development.
  • Apply new knowledge and techniques to ongoing research projects.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of experimental results.
  • Understand and comply with ethical guidelines and regulations related to drug research and development.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for regulatory submissions and approvals as needed.

Qualifications 

EDUCATION:  Master’s Degree in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in drug discovery and development, preferably within the BioPharma or pharmaceutical industry. Experience with pre-clinical research and high-throughput screening is highly desirable.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

In-depth understanding of drug discovery processes, including target identification, compound screening, and optimization.

Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry standards for drug development.

LANGUAGE: English level IV (Advanced knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
