Key Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Plans for development, review and operationalization of the institute research policy (s)
(ii) Develops bankable wildlife research project proposals
(iii) Develops relevant research for wildlife training and conservation
(iv) Provides consultancy for wildlife research and conservation
(v) Supports the mobilization of research funding
(vi) Supports partnerships with other research institutions
(vii) Disseminates research findings
(viii) Supports collaborative efforts for the uptake of research innovations
(ix) Supports capacity building of staff in wildlife research
(x)Establishes and updates the data base on wildlife research
(xi) Prepares regular reports on ongoing/completed research projects
(xii) Supervises and appraise staff
Eligibility
The person eligible for appointment should possess the following attributes:
(i) Bachelor degree of science (biological), environmental sciences, wildlife biology, natural resources management or related fields from recognized institution.
(ii) Master of Science in the above-mentioned fields from a recognized institution.
(iii) PhD in relevant subject areas is an added advantage
(iv) Should possess progressive relevant working experience of 5 years
(v) At least five relevant peer reviewed publications
(vi) Evidence of contribution to the community
(vii) Be a citizen of Uganda with a valid national identity card
(viii) Age: Not above 55
