Education Officer job at Promoting Equality in African Schools

PEAS is a not-for-profit organization committed to expanding access to inclusive, quality secondary education in Sub-Saharan Africa. With 38 schools in Uganda and Zambia and partnerships supporting over 200,000 young people, PEAS focuses on transforming education in marginalized communities.

Job Title:
Education Officer

Key Responsibilities:
1. Professional Development:
o Design training frameworks and resources for teachers, school leaders, and support officers.
o Implement professional development programs using a Trainer of Trainers model.
2. Curriculum Implementation:

o Support the rollout of competency-based curricula in Zambia.
o Develop tools, schemes, and assessments for curriculum implementation.
3. Education Priorities:
o Contribute to structured pedagogy programs and school improvement initiatives in government schools.
o Collaborate on education roadmaps for Uganda and Zambia.
4. Fundraising & Communications:
o Assist in proposal writing and external communications, including reports and presentations.

Key Qualifications:
• Teaching experience with a focus on improving student learning outcomes.
• Understanding of best practices in education, leadership, and teacher development.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

• Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa and strong written/verbal communication skills in English.
