JOB DETAILS:
General Summary
The Social economic Strengthening Assistant is responsible for supporting the IDI MWP DREAMS Program on economic strengthening in line with the Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) model. This includes, supporting Local Market Assessments, recruitment of out of school eligible AGYW for Vocational skilling (Basic Social economic approaches and the Apprenticeship training), monitoring and supporting AGYW savings groups, provision of start-up kits, business support and linkage to employment. He/she will support interventions to conduct sensitization meetings on economic strengthening initiatives, engagement of local actors and preparing monthly project performance reports, conducting post training follow ups/ Monitor continuity in Economic Strengthening growth post-graduation as well as documenting stories of change
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct market assessment to identify market-led opportunities available for AGYW, stakeholders and community resources mapping.
• Facilitate planning; organizing and management of Vocational trainings and VSLA related activities.
• Develop work plans to ensure effective implementation of SES packages for all enrolled AGYW in line with the DREAMS layering guidance.
• Work with project team to link out of school AGYW to relevant social economic strengthening programs
• Mmonitor AGYW enrolled on vocational, apprenticeship trainings
• Supervise Artisans delivery of the vocational skilling and apprenticeship including; financial literacy, VSLA, Financial entrepreneurship training
• Conduct day to daily field visits/ regular support visits to the community safe spaces to supervise SES trainings and ensure the eligible AGYW are benefiting from the courses.
• Review the training logs, roll call and provide written feedback on attendance of the AGYW
• Coordinate the screening of all AGYW to identify the critically vulnerable ones eligible for ESES.
• Supervise daily documentation and capture of SES outputs at all service points into standard databases and registers to facilitate reporting and performance monitoring.
• Submit monthly reports and a quarterly report
• Monitor continuity in Economic Strengthening growth post-graduation
• Systematically document and disseminate key lessons from SES experiences under the IDI DREAMS programs from time to time.
• Work with the CDOs to advocate for linkage of AGYW to Government economic strengthening programs, Internship, Apprenticeship and other support
Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Business Administration or related field of study
Person Specification
• Should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Business Administration or related field of study
• 3 years’ professional experience implementing PEPFAR funded Economic Strengthening Program interventions
• Additional training in income generation/entrepreneurship, life skills, monitoring and evaluation, and HIV/AIDS is an added advantage.
• Prior experience in building and maintaining partnership relations with implementing partners and other community agencies
