HR Manager (Uganda)
Reporting to: Cluster HR Director (East Africa)
Based: Kampala, Uganda
Employees: 6 local offices with 4,200 employees based at various client sites
G4S, a global leader in security solutions with a workforce of approximately 800,000 people worldwide, is seeking an HR Manager for our operations in Uganda.

What you bring to the table:
• Bachelor’s in HR Management/Equivalent (Post qualifications beneficial)
• 5+ years’ experience in Senior HR roles
• Financial acumen in cost control and budgets
• Experience with large recruitment campaigns
• HR systems and practices (Sage 300, Google Suite a plus)
• Leader of people
• Ability to manage conflict
• Communication skills (written and verbal)

Duties & Responsibilities
Employee Relations Management:
• Oversee disciplinary processes ensuring compliance with Company Code of Conduct.
• Represent the company in Labour Court disputes.
• Keep line management informed of changes in disciplinary procedures based on Labour Court decisions.
• Represent the company in dealings with trade unions.
• Establish and maintain employee communication structures.
• Provide ongoing training and consultation to management for structure development.
Staffing and Recruitment:
• Regular meetings with management to assess recruitment needs and trends.
• Conduct HR planning to match staffing requirements with incumbents, aligned with the company structure.
• Adhere to company recruitment policies and ensure compliance.
• Manage vetting, screening, and recruitment processes.
• Oversee employee compensation in line with remuneration policy.
• Ensure smooth recruitment and administration workflow for rostering.
Employee Engagement and Change Management:
• Support change initiatives and employee engagement during change processes.
• Manage Employee Satisfaction Surveys and analyze results.
• Develop action plans based on survey findings and monitor progress.
Policy Compliance and Record Keeping:
• Monitor and audit compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Manage HR documentation and filing in accordance with company policy.
Training and Development:
• Plan and oversee operational training schedules and delivery.
• Assist with management training execution.
• Manage induction and on-the-job training for new starters and staff.
• Coordinate succession planning for key positions with Training & Recruitment Manager.
Health and Safety Management:
• Promote health and safety awareness in line with company strategy.
• Manage incident reporting and workmen’s compensation.
• Ensure employee care in the event of serious incidents or fatalities.
• Participate in safety forums and education programs.
Staff Management and Development:
• Ensure clear job profiles and performance contracts for direct reports.
• Conduct regular goal reviews and manage poor performance.
• Provide continuous coaching and mentoring to staff.
• Ensure succession planning and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
Health and Safety Oversight:
• Participate in the design, review, and monitoring of national safety plans.
• Report and follow-up on safety incidents.
• Comply with safety policies and ensure staff adherence to safety protocols.
