JOB DETAILS:
Purpose
The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring sound financial management, effective administration, efficient logistics, and seamless operations support within the organization. The role requires strong leadership in financial oversight and operational processes to meet donor, organizational, and statutory requirements.
Scope of Work
i) Financial Management
• Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and donor financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and statutory regulations.
• Oversee financial accounting, reporting, and audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, financial systems, and compliance frameworks.
ii) Administration and Logistics
• Manage administrative functions, including procurement, office management, and asset control.
• Supervise logistics, including supply chain management and vendor relations, to support program delivery.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and transparency.
iii) Operations Support
• Support the Head of Operations and Finance in developing and implementing operational strategies.
• Collaborate with program teams to align financial and operational support with project objectives.
• Provide mentorship, training, and capacity building for finance and administrative staff.
iv) Risk and Compliance Management
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to financial and operational activities.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and donor regulations.
• Manage the audit process, address audit findings, and implement recommendations to improve processes.
v) Human Resources
• Support recruitment and onboarding.
• Payroll management and compliance.
• Develop HR-related policies and manage financial aspects of training requirements.
Candidate Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA is required. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
• 7-8 years of experience in financial management, preferably in an INGO setting.
• Experience managing donor funds, including USAID, EU, or similar funding sources is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of administration, logistics, and operational management.
• Experience collaborating with HR on recruitment, training, payroll management, and employee benefits administration.
• Proven experience managing audits and ensuring compliance.
Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency in financial ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Attributes:
• Familiarity with local tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience in capacity building and mentoring teams.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
