JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
To lead in the development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies across the company. The holder is also responsible for the attainment of commercial targets and long- term value creation in abid to grow company sales and profits within all areas of its operations. Reports to the group CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee the implementation of the commercial vision, strategy and resourcerequirements to successfully address business revenue.
• Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Executive Committee Team for commercial growthacross the company as well as guide overall corporate business development initiatives.

• Advise the Group CEO on improvements and current trends in marketing and competitionapproaches.
• Lead all commercial Business development strategic initiatives including branding, sales force product positioning, pricing, and market access strategies as well as resource planning across thegroup.

• Research on the trends and policies in domestic and international markets to better understand andexplore opportunities within these markets.

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders and advisors (including the Group Business Development team, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance) on the evaluation, due diligence,and technical assessments of the potential business partners.
• Make relevant recommendations for the opening of new customers and suggest credit limits.
• Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met, and be ready to handleunexpected situations.
• Identify opportunities to expand the business, including through partnerships, mergers, and newmarket ventures.
• Provide market intelligence to support strategic business decisions in terms of future development ofexisting and new product solutions.
• Work with and support supply chain functions to ensure continuous brand growth in both domesticand international markets.
• Identify and cultivate impactful relationships both internally and across to help the company capitalizeon external opportunities consistent with the long-term business strategy.
• Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients, employees, and contractors.
• Identify and develop partnering opportunities to enhance market reach.
• Builds and maintains proactive and positive relationships with all Business partners and other stakeholders to ensure that the company retains brand equity and is well-positioned to utilize itsnetwork for revenue growth.
• Effectively represent the company in the corporate market place and events for commercial purposes
• Work with the Legal and Compliance team to ensure all the necessary information and documentation required for all commercial transactions are provided accordingly.
• Continuously monitor compliance for the sales and marketing team in line with the statutoryobligations across the group and guide the team accordingly.
• Oversee the effective management of all financial aspects of the commercial function for the distribution business including budgeting, forecasting, long-range
planning, and overall managementand accountability.
• Build, Coach, Mentor and retain a team of outstanding talent with the ability to demonstrateexceptional sales growth.
• Develop and guide the implementation of staff motivation programs.
• Lead the identification of capacity gaps among the team and establish strategies to monitor theirimplementation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or any Business-related field
• An MBA in Marketing or Business-related field is desirable.
• Over ten (10) years of working experience in a related field, (manufacturing and distribution, service industry, FMCGs), 5 years of which should be in asenior management position.
• Other certifications or exposure in Commercial Management, Supplier Relationship
Management,Contract Management and Procurement are also preferred.
• Strong leadership competence and managing big and diverse teams
• Business development (sales strategy & planning, sales forecasting, channel management, analytics& reporting)
• CVM (data mining, customer profiling, cross/up-sell, campaign & promotion management, valuemodel development, loyalty & churn management)
• Brand & Marketing (Trade marketing, digital & social media marketing, brand management,advertising, content writing)
• Data analytics
• Relationship management
• Strong negotiation skills
