Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. In Uganda, we are currently seeking to recruit a Process Technologist Trade based at the Mbarara plant.
As a Process Technologist Trade, you will report directly to the Safety & Health, Environment & Quality Manager
Key Purpose Statement
The primary role of a Process Technologist Trade is to proactively support business strategy by providing technical Manufacturing, Packaging, and Warehousing expertise to improve Trade Product Quality in CCBA Sales and Distribution thereby ensuring optimum consumer service and satisfaction.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Trade Quality Support
- Develop and execute a 1-to-2-year trade quality plan.
- Execute, implement, and conduct a regular assessment of the long-term Trade quality strategy and goals in Sales and Distribution i.e., conduct the analysis of trade returns to identify trends and recommend solutions.
Sales Strategy Support
- Support the sales strategy regarding Trade quality deliverables and objectives.
- Provide guidance and advice on quality-related outputs (trade replacement and stock rotation processes – product freshness)
Communication
- Communicate with relevant Manufacturing, SHEQ Managers, and other relevant parties as applicable on status and issues facing Trade Quality.
- Communicate effectively in team interactions.
- Manage IMCR related to quality.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage the quality system.
- Engage with sales and marketing to build capability and ownership
- Engage with external customers and stakeholders to achieve win-win outcomes
- Lead implementation of quality systems in official Coca-Cola Distribution Centers (OCCDs)
Maintain safety, health, and environmental standards
Manage human resources in the process area
- Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate
- Manage own performance in a way that shapes a high performance, high engagement culture
- Demonstrate behavior that builds, maintains, or enhances the company’s reputation
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in food science or related area
- Added advantage: Knowledge of QMS, EMS, OHSAS 18001/45001 and/or NOSA System, FSSC 22000
Experience
- Minimum of three years relevant experience in FMCGs and adequate experience in Quality Control/Supervisory roles.
Competencies
- Must possess good analytical ability and problem-solving skills,
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
- Good oral & written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to provide strong leadership and motivation
