Job Title: Senior Manager – Projects Support Office

Reports to: General Manager – Enterprise Portfolio Management Office

Division: Enterprise Portfolio Management Office

No. of Vacancies: 1

Main Job Functions:

  • Preparation of MTNU Annual CAPEX budget for the business (Budget amount ranges from USD 60M-100M0.
  • Develop, implement and manage the CAPEX Steercom process and CAPEX governance procceses for project and program portfolio management.
  • Ensure benefit realization processes are adhered to as well as compliance to the CPM toolkit 90% and above.
  • Link between finance, Business and CPM office on project approvals and registration.
  • Ensure completed projects are communicated to Finance for timely capitalization
  • Documentation management, maintenance and archiving of project records. Develop and manage  central repository for project information and records (soft and hard copies)
  • Ensure completed projects are capitalized in line with set targets
  • Manage monthly Steercom and Spend approval process
  • Supervise special projects to ensure execution in line with best practices.
  • Ensure timely reporting i.e. weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.
  • Ensure board approval for Capex budget and related requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Relevant Field
  • Professional Qualification in Accounting or Master’s Degree in related field will be an added advantage.
  • Qualification in Project management

Experience:

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in Telecommunications environment
  • 5 years practical application of Financial knowledge
  • 3 years practical application of Project Management principles
  • Financial awareness (cost Control, budgeting)

Skills/Attributes:

  • Record management skills
  • Project management (Planning, scheduling, report writing, Vendor and contract management skills.)
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Able to travel extensively within Uganda
  • Negotiation and Communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Report Writing Skills
  • Team player
