Reports to: Cargo Manager
Job Summary:
The Cargo Finance Supervisor shall ensure the success of cargo business objectives by directing the department’s cargo financial affairs within a framework of prudent and effective controls focusing on cargo finances, cargo operations and staff resources in compliance with Company policy and procedures.
Key Roles and Responsibilities;
- Supervise cargo revenue functions over the company network, ensuring timely payments.
- Prepare revenue budgets and forecasts
- Support the strategic planning, costing and project management functions
- Financial planning and analysis
- Establish and recommend operating procedures
- Supervise timely and accurate recording and reporting of cargo revenue
- Develop and oversee the maintenance of revenue budget monitoring systems
- Oversee the receipt of cargo sales and participate in the development of cargo schedules
- Management of monthly reconciliation to ensure proper accounting in the system and make necessary rectification
- Support cargo management by providing relevant data to support business cases.
- Performance of audits to ensure compliance with Accounting standards, Company policy and governing regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance of cargo revenue financials as per IAS and GAAP.
- Documentation of exercises undertaken to test internal controls.
- Establish the cargo department objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives
- Regularly evaluate team objectives, plans, procedures and practices and make appropriate changes where necessary.
- Participate in Agreement negotiations with cargo operations stakeholders
- Facilitate cargo staff training.
- Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the line Manager and Director.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- Professional qualification is an added advantage
- Proven work experience of not less than 5 years in Finance or Audit.
- Sound knowledge of Airfreight financial and accounting procedures
- Sound Accounting Knowledge Adequate ERP skills (Oracle / SAP or similar) to perform the role efficiently
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent report-writing, communication, and IT skills.
