JOB DESCRIPTION

The Logistics Assistant will report directly to the Field coordinator and technically to the Logistics Coordinator and will be responsible for providing logistical support and fleet management to the NRC Field office in Kyangwali. He/she will specifically be responsible for procurement, vehicle/transport operation and managing all paperwork/records related to the tracking of NRC assets and inventory at the field site.

Generic Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of the logistic function’s portfolio at the field site.
  • Adhere to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements
  • Provide logistic administration and basic support.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by Line manager.
  • Ensure proper filing of all logistics documents at the field site.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of logistic activity.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the logistics function.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper filing of all logistics documents at the field site.
  • Ensure that logistics procedures at the field site are in line with the logistics hand book.
  • Compile and submit monthly logistics reports to the logistics coordinator.
  • Manage the proper utilization of NRC vehicles at the field site.
  • Carry out procurement of goods and services at the field site.
  • Ensure proper management of NRC assets and inventory at the field site
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of logistic activity.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the logistics function.

Professional Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business Administration or Procurement and Logistics or equivalent relevant field.
  • Possession of CIPS qualification will be an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years working experience in handling logistics and fleet management work in busy environment
  • INGO Experience and previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts will be added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Donor rules and regulations and donor requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with prioritization
  • Strong sense of personal integrity and commitment.
