Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication; or Economics; or Agricultural Economics; or Environment Management; or Land Use Planning/Economics; or Climatology from a recognized University / Institution.Working

Experience

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Disaster Preparedness Officer for performing the following duties:-

–      Developing and disseminating hazard and risk awareness messages;

–      Conducting community hazard and awareness training;

–      Mainstreaming disaster risk reduction into the District Development Plans and Sub – County Development Plans;

–      Coordinating inter-agency food security planning;

–      Initiating community risk awareness programmes;

–      Issuing hazard and disaster early warning messages;

–      Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
