We are looking for a Project  Coordinator who will operate from our Uganda Country office, and will be responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation and monitoring of Teaching at the Right Level (TARL) being implemented between 2020 and 2024, focusing on enabling upper primary learners to acquire basic skills in numeracy and literacy by grouping them according to their performance instead of age or grade, and by using learner-centered pedagogies. Do you want to take on this challenge? Summary
  • Position: Project Coordinator TaRL.
  • Duty Station: Kampala with frequent travel to Madi-Okollo, Terego and Isingiro.
  • Start Date: November 17, 2021.
  • Salary Range: From UGX 7,513,105 – 10,282,202 dependent on years of experience.
  • Contract duration:  May 31, 2022, with possibility of extension, depending on performance.
Job description

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Teaching at the Right Level (TARL) being implemented between 2020 and 2024. TaRL enables upper primary learners to acquire basic skills in numeracy and literacy by grouping them according to their performance instead of age or grade, and by using learner-centered pedagogies. VVOB cooperates with UNICEF, the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) and other partners to implement the TaRL methodology through which we support primary 4 and 5 children to acquire an appropriate level of foundational skills, enabling a smooth transition to post-primary learning pathways or the world of work. The project is currently being implemented in 180 schools in the refugee hosting districts of Isingiro, Terego and Madi-Okollo. You can read more about the project here.
