About US:

ACORD-U (Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development – Uganda) is an indigenous Non Governmental Organization (NGO) working for social justice and development. ACORD has been working in Uganda since 1979 with operations in over 25 districts across Uganda. The ACORD-U works in conjunction with people who have been denied their basic rights, helping to better understand, to challenge, and to change the situation in which they find themselves.

About USAID ICYD Project:

The Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development-Uganda (ACORD-U), received grants from USAID, to implement the “Integrated Children and Youth Development (ICYD) Activity” in Central and Western Uganda (Mityana, Gomba, Luwero, Kyenjojo and Kakumiro Districts)

Job Summary:  The District Coordinator will provide technical oversight, operational coordination and management including; planning, implementation, capacity enhancement, monitoring/evaluation and reporting and work with district and subcounty OVC structures to coordinate OVC services.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Community Development, Education or any other related field.
• A postgraduate training in project planning and management will be an added advantage.
• At least four years of recent experience in designing, implementing and managing OVC programs in HIV setting in a fast paced project.
• Familiar with OVC programming in Uganda.
