Job Summary: The Network Administrator will analyze business needs of the Assembly and develop, implement, train and maintain software systems including database systems, network systems and EALA Website
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To analyse, design, develop, implement and maintain applications of software in accordance with established IT standards;
- Obtain and analyse needs of the users for developing or modifying website software systems;
- Develop, improve and maintain EALA website and coordinate with other players to ensure the websites smooth operations;
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date systems and user documentation;
- Evaluate existing information systems and procedures and recommend solutions for improvement;
- Construct or modify software to meet designed solutions, using modern software tools;
- Test and implement new and revised application software systems to ensure that they meet user requirements;
- Implement software systems, including acceptance testing, user training and preparation of documentation;
- Provide software maintenance and technical support for all existing software systems ;
- Develop and implement proper backup procedures for data files stored on EAC servers and maintain up-to-date electronic copies of data at an offsite location; and
- Provide computer training and user support to ensure that technology is best utilised.
Qualifications and Experience:
- The applicant for the East African Community (EAC) Network Administrator job must hold a Masters Degree in Computer Science, information, technology, Telecommunications, electrical/electronic Engineering plus relevant professional qualifications .
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience . Proven experience in incorporating IT systems/networks.
