Job: Learning and Development Officer

Job Summary
The learning and development officer is responsible for identifying staff training and development needs, and for planning, organizing, and overseeing appropriate training.
Key accountabilities /responsibilities:
- Conducting job evaluation surveys.
- Liaising with managers and interviewing employees at all levels to identify and assess training and development needs.
- Delivering and overseeing the training of individuals or groups of employees
- Compiling and presenting information
- Working closely with flight operations for crew recurrent training, conversions and other
- Implementing, advising on and monitoring appraisal schemes to effect training programs
- Supervising and monitoring progress made via training programs or schemes
- Ensuring employees receive statutory required training as per UCAA,IATA and other.
- Designing and assessing training programs.
- Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of staff learning and development programs and the implementation of an annual corporate training plan and budget.
- Develop and facilitate relevant “in-house” training sessions / programs.
- Liaise with training providers to ensure correct setup and equipment requirements are provided.
- Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of a suite of Leadership Development programs.
- Prepare reports on training effectiveness.
- Provide a consultancy service to managers & staff on learning & development and a resource to managers in sourcing appropriate branch specific training.
- Develop and coordinate the corporate induction programs, work experience and traineeship programs.
- Coordinate and optimize the employer incentives for engaging in Nationally Recognized Training.
- In consultation with the employee relations and performance officer, jointly co-ordinate the implementation of the Staff Annual Performance Review Program and associated support programs.
- Development of a comprehensive learning and development manual and charter.
- Identify and recommend areas of improvement in OD activities, services and policies.
- Assist with the development and implementation of organizational development / strategic OD and Business Improvement policy and programs.
- Act as the Organization Development representative on any committees, forums and focus groups as may be required.
- Constant report writing and submission on activities in progress and completed.
Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or similar
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources
- 3-4 years experience in learning and development in a corporate organization
- Demonstrated experience in developing and evaluating training programs.
- Experience administering an online Learning Management System (LMS)
- Management of training records
- Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends
